The 2021 Home Block Pinot Noir is ripe and powerful, with fruit in the mouth that tends toward dried fig, macerated cherry, hints of kirsch and tapenade. More savory and more developed than the 2022 tasted alongside, this has distinctly more grunt and rumble than the fresher, more delicate 2022 iteration. Vintage variation is a wonderful thing, especially when the power of the site shines through. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
A special selection, hand-picked from a single 1ha parcel in the Lowburn Ferry Home block. An exceptional example of Central Otago Pinot Noir with its silky entry flowing into a plush palate of wild cherry, dark plums, wild thyme and spicy dried herbs supported by a fine structure that will allow the wine to age gracefully for many years to come.
